Different Font width (or format like bold) in edit mode than in normal mode

Description
i compiled qyzis without modification from the current repos source.
if i type in edit mode, the cursor starts running away to the right from the text. this makes sense, since in normal mode the font is wider or bigger alltogether. redrawing doesn't really work thou, I have to move the cursor (in normal mode) over everything i want to have redrawn, this is quite ugly
I posted 2 screens that hopefully show something
basically the whole bug looks like a smaller font in edit mode than in normal mode. I looked a little over the qyzis code, but everywhere where fonts were mentioned they referred to the same one.
I have ubuntu 64bit running.

it seems that Courier family doesn't return a fixed pitch font on ubuntu...
Anyway, we really miss a configuration dialog for qyzis : fixed family looks quite ugly on my computer...
